I chatted with veteran surfer Sal Avila about the health benefits of his favorite sport! Sal is the owner of two of the Avila’s El Ranchito restaurants in Southern California. He began surfing as a young teen and was a top longboarder on the Mexican surf team. He attributes surfing to helping him stay fit and healthy, inside and out, throughout the years.
The Avila family opened their first restaurant in Huntington Park, Ca. in 1966. Sal grew up working in the restaurant with his family. Sal has tips for those of you who are interested in opening up your own restaurant!
